remember the old Rod Serling's "Night Gallery"?
stuff was just cheesy enough not to be real
but the topics were so '60's in their delivery and
in the sort of fascination Rod had for these topics
ESP, Mental Telepathy, Eternal Youth,
Being Stuck in Time Loops! The Picture of Dorian Gray!
The melodramatic
music that sounds the same from each Night Gallery
a play of harpsichord, moog and syrupy strings!
This was ground breaking stuff for the time
but the stereotypes really breathe through
the going for a belt of booze from a crystal decanter
(a stereotype that survives today!)
the token black guy
the damsel in distress
someone lights a cigarette
now for some over used contemporary jargon
pricesless!
